May 18th – 21st – Capital City Scooter Club
Victoria, BC – Possibly the oldest scooter rally in North America, the Garden City Scooter Run, has just held its 28th annual celebration. Set on Victoria Island, this rally might arguably be located in the prettiest area of British Columbia, Canada.
This year’s theme was in honor of the infamous movies about a 007 agent known as Bond, James Bond to be exact. Club members encouraged rally attendees to dress as their favorite Bond characters and their mantra for the event was “Shaken, not stirred… come Bond with us.”
Its no wonder Scooter Underground, Victoria’s premier scooter shop, offered rallygoers an unprecedented 50% off garage-style sale to kick off this amazing weekend. Many enthusiasts gathered at the meet and greet for music and a chance to hang out with their new and old scooter pals.
Depending on when you were able to pull yourself out of bed on Saturday, you had the choice of two rides to follow. Both rides ended up at the Cambie for the show and shine, vintage vinyl swap, hot rod show, burlesque photo shoot, and music throughout the afternoon.
But the fun didn’t end there. No way! Rallygoers continued to Ross Bay Pub for dinner and had the option of playing Music BINGO. Then off to finish the night with the Northern Soldiers and Capital City Scooter Club for the second annual Soul Night at the Copper Room. What a great night for friends, music and fun!
So much was packed into the first two days that it’s hard to believe there were two more days of fun rides and rally shenanigans. Sunday afternoon offered another amazing ride, free pizza, games of skill and chance, and awards. Thanks to many sponsors, like Corazzo, there was also a fantastic raffle. The night ended with the rally’s famous late-night mystery ride led by their very own K.G.B. agent, Kendal Graham Badass.
Most rally folks didn’t make it to the mystery ride, and instead began their journey home sometime on Sunday. But, for the tried and true, there was an official send-off breakfast and escort out of town on Monday morning. You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here!
