F**k Yeah Scooter Club’s pre-summer rally, Two Wheels Around Tacoma, was blessed with overcast weather and very little rain. Scooterists and clubs from Seattle and south Puget Sound descended upon the Poodle Dog filling two rows of parking spots. After everyone bought their rally packs, the group enjoyed drinks and a taco bar lunch in a banquet room that was set aside by the restaurant.

The pack of 55 scooters then got ready for FYSC’s Lake Tour Ride. Riders were treated to views of former farmlands from country roads. Upon entering south Tacoma, the pack made a quick ride through Wapato Lake Park. The group also got a chance to see Lake Steilacoom and Lake Louise before the first stop of the day, Steilacoom Pub & Grill.

While everyone enjoyed drinks at the bar and deck, some braver folks took advantage of the pub’s arm wrestling table. A Metro Bettie took on a F**k Yeah (left-handed), let’s just say it wasn’t clear who won. The group picked up six more bikes bringing the total to 61, and continued through Chambers Bay and onto Point Defiance Park’s 5 Mile Drive.

Next on the schedule was a barbecue and raffle drawings hosted by F**k Yeah member El Diablo. Guests were treated to TWAT cookies (made by F**k Yeah member Chef), hotdogs, potato salad, beer and sodas. Each rally pack was stuffed with one ticket to ensure that almost everyone who bought one could win a prize. As the group circled around the raffle drawing callers, there was enough room for some people to give lawn darts a shot. F**k Yeahs like to live dangerously, no injuries occurred.

After the barbecue, the group stopped at a nearby thrift store to buy last-minute togas for the dance party later that night. From there, it was quick ride along Tacoma’s waterfront to downtown ending at Dorky’s Bar Arcade. You have to love a place that has old school video games, pinball and beer. All their classic games are only 25 cents to play. Several quarters later, the pack left Dorky’s and soon arrived at New Frontier Lounge for the first annual Delta House Dance Party: Toga!

Retro-pop act Bandolier kicked off the night. 4/5 of the band are F**k Yeah members and they even ended their set with a cover of the Isley Brothers’ “Shout.” Talcum powder was spread on the floor and Emerald City Soul Club DJs Nipper and Marc did their thing. The DJ collective only spins rare soul 45s, Northern Soul, hence the spreading of talc on the dance floor. Toga-clad revelers let loose and danced the night away, while others hung outside recapping the day’s adventures.

Thanks to all the sponsors, venues, scooter clubs, new faces, F**k Yeah club members and prospects that made T.W.A.T. #2 a huge success. See you all this summer!
